Orbi Guest Network Keeps Switching Off: Fixed!
So, you have setup a guest network on your Orbi by doing Orbi router login but it is giving you hard times now. It keeps on disconnecting every now and then? Use the fixes from this section and get rid of the problem easily:
Did You Try Rebooting the Orbi?
Rebooting is a simple process that helps you fix technical glitches easily. These temporary glitches can be responsible for many issues with your technical devices. Maybe such glitches are the reason why you are facing issues with the guest network.
So try rebooting your Orbi now. Power it off and then power it on after about 5 to 10 minutes. This removes the temporary glitches from the Orbi and perhaps can fix the issue that you are currently experiencing.
Power Cycle the Entire Network
In case rebooting did not help, then perform a power cycle of the entire network. In the previous step, you rebooted only Orbi. But in this step, you will power off other devices also on the network. So, switch off Orbi as well as modem. Do take out their power cables from their wall outlets. Now, give the devices some rest, i.e. wait now. After that, plug in the devices and switch them on using the Power buttons. This completes power cycling the network. Now, see if Orbi guest network still gives you trouble.
Are the Devices Connected Properly?
A faulty and shaky connection between the Orbi router and modem can be a reason why the Orbi guest network is not working properly. Orbi router and modem can connect in two ways, wired and wireless.
Make sure that the devices are connected firmly in any of the mode of connection. Replace the cable connecting the two devices if connected with a LAN cable. We recommend using a good CAT6 cable to make the connection.
Get the Orbi Firmware Upgraded
Outdated firmware on Orbi devices can also be a reason why the guest network is not working correctly. Timely updated are crucial for Orbi to keep giving its best performance and also to avoid getting stuck with issues. So, if you haven’t updated your Orbi devices yet, then do it right now. If you wish to manually update your Orbi then download the latest firmware for your Orbi and then log in to Orbi and install the firmware file. Make sure you update both Orbi router and satellites.
After you are done with Netgear Orbi firmware update, you will no longer be facing any issues with the Orbi guest network.
